The Finals of the Championship

Friday 22nd of March 2013

Everything we have been doing boiled down to today. It was the final day of the Championship, and Grandstand Stables were only four winners behind. With a great book of rides planned, everything looked positive for pulling off the big win.

In the first, I could only finish in 3rd place on Ukrainian but the team won with Blue Sea. Only 3 behind now and gaining quickly!

In the 2nd, I rode Mutual Force but could only finish in 7th.

Going into the 3rd race, we all had to beat the favourite, Triple Jig, but he was far superior and won for the 6th time. I finished back in 3rd place on Zain Shamardal which was a good run nonetheless.

I never managed to hit the board in the 4th, finishing in 7th place on Qannaas. In the 5th, I finished 5th on Nawwaar. In the last, I finished 2nd after gaining all the way; only missing out by 1/2 a length on Albayan.

We went down fighting but sadley it wasn't to be this year.

I've had an in and out Dubai season. It could have been much better, but onwards and upwards! I'm looking forward to the Big Night on the 30th where I ride Rakha for M. Al Jahouri in the Dubai Kahayla Classic, and Haathdq in the Godolphin Mile. I'm really looking forward to these races as they are the reason we're out here - to win at the highest level.

It will be a great evening, wish me luck everyone!
